08.01.24 / 08:19
After his low profile spell at Chelsea, it seems that Timo Werner is very close to returning to the Premier League on loan from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig to Tottenham, despite rumours from the Daily Mail linking him with Manchester United.
According to a club statement on X, the German striker was not in the RB Leipzig squad for the club's match against St Gallen and according press, the forward could join Ange Postecoglou's side in the next 48 hours, with the London club reportedly set to cover his wages 100% until June.
David Ornstein of 'The Athletic' has reported that the deal is complete and the player will join Spurs until June and it is expected that there will be a buy-out option of around 15-20 million euros for the German striker.
