Will Barcelona's captain not receive his wages in the upcoming season?

Barcelona has been facing a financial crunch and that has been seen during the summer transfer window. Even though they offloaded players, the club is finding it tough to register their new players. Also, it seems that Gerard Pique might have to accept a cut down in his wages to aid his club register the newbies on board. It is also known that the Spaniard captain might not receive any wages for the upcoming La Liga season.

The player will take his fee during the final year of his contract (2023-24) but there is no mention of the upcoming season. However, the final details are still not released as both parties are still working on it. However, the willingness of Pique to accept such a deal is an inspiration for future generations. Even during the last season, the player had taken a pay cut to help his team register Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia.
