Newcastle United is still working hard to identify the best candidate to replace Jacob Murphy and Miguel Almiron on the right side. But they also want to add young players with a lot of promise to their team in order to future-proof it.
According to a Brazilian newspaper, Sao Paulo winger William Gomes is reportedly a target for both Newcastle and Porto. Based on his statistics, Gomes is more likely to be a future-proofing addition than an instant enhancement. Newcastle has long had the 18-year-old on its want list, but it seems like things are about to take a turn for the better. According to Brazilian publication Bolavip Brasil (via Sport Witness), Porto has attempted to acquire the talented winger, but their offer of €9 million (£7.5 million) plus player has been turned down. Sao Paulo is requesting double that sum in order to give up its promising player.
