Gerard, a product of Cornellà’s youth academy, joined Barcelona B in 2023 and quickly progressed to the first team the following year. This promotion came after the club's primary left-back, Alejandro Balde, suffered a serious injury, forcing Barcelona to seek an immediate replacement during the season.

This campaign, Martin has featured in 42 matches, contributing 1 goal and 6 assists. Transfermarkt currently values the 23-year-old defender at €7.5 million.

This comes at a time when some reports are discussing Barcelona's intention to bring back their former full-back Alex Grimaldo, the star of Bayer Leverkusen.

It is worth mentioning that Martin has participated in several matches with Barcelona this season and has performed well.
