Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 draw against Aston Villa

In the first 12 minutes at Villa Park, Daniel Podence gave Wolves the lead before Villa fought back for a point. First-half danger from Julen Lopetegui's team that had a chance to increase their lead. Midway through the first half, Matheus Nunes had a chance to give Wolves a second goal, but Emi Martinez stopped him. The squandered opportunities ultimately cost Wolves the three points as Danny Ings scored the tying goal after coming off the bench.

Aston Villa has been so positively permeated since Unai Emery was hired as the club's head coach at the tail end of October that the loyal supporters of the team demanded success over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Despite the outcome, the game was notable for Cunha's second-half debut after he took Diego Costa's place long after the hour mark.
