Wolves target Alvaro Montoro has rejected an offer from Flamengo, opting instead to join fellow Brazilian club Botafogo. The 18-year-old Argentine talent, currently at Velez Sarsfield, has impressed with his performances since breaking into the first team last year. Montoro’s displays have drawn interest from multiple clubs across Europe and South America, including Premier League side Wolves, who are actively scouting the South American market under new manager Vitor Pereira.
Pereira, familiar with the region due to previous stints at Flamengo and Corinthians, values the potential of South American players. Botafogo have reportedly reached an agreement with Velez Sarsfield for the young midfielder, securing his services ahead of other suitors. Despite Wolves’ interest, Montoro appears set to continue his development in Brazil, with a move to Botafogo now in the final stages of completion.
