Xavi’s Barcelona held back by Benfica

Barcelona’s first European match with the new manager Xavi ended disappointingly with a goalless draw with Benfica in the Group stage of the UEFA champions league. Barca now has one more chance left if they want to progress to the knockout stages, they would have to pull off an upset against Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga powerhouse has won all five of its group stage games which involve the 3-0 Camp Nou thrashing of Barça.

Catalan club despite the disappointing finish saw Yusuf Demir's standout individual performance during the match which truly showcased the 18-year-old’s talent on the field. Demir joined Barca on loan from Rapid Vienna in the summer and has the option to make a permanent move with €10 million ($11.25M).
