Zamorano thinks Vidal is the world's best defensive midfielder

We won't mention that there are other defensive midfielders who are clearly better than King Arturo, we won't mention the fact that his compatriot Ivan Zamorano completely ignored the presence of other impressive players in that position such as Sergio Busquets, Paul Pogba, Luka Modric and even N´Golo Kante. All those players can be considered as better than Arturo no doubt. But when you are of a certain nationality and speak about a compatriot of yours, you got to praise them because of your nationality.

Talking to Omnisport, Zamorano spoke about Vidal as if he really was the best in his position, this is clearly another case of country love that we won't argue against. But Zamorano clearly has his priorities all mixed up, because the very best in the world in that position is without question Sergio Busquets. But for Zamorano as the good Chilean man that he is, the very best is Vidal and we respect his opinion but agree to disagree.

Talking to Omnisport, Zamorano said: "Vidal is the best defensive midfielder in the world. We are very proud of him. What he has done in Europe is extraordinary. He won the Serie A title with Juventus and now the Bundesliga title with Bayern in his first year, it is fantastic. He is the best in the world in his position and you can see it in each game he plays with Bayern and Chile. He has become a leader who somehow defines what a coach wants from a player on the pitch. Hopefully he can keep performing at this level for many more years - that would be very good for our national team."
