Zidane hints on James' exit

Two of these three players are home products that Zinedine Zidane really likes, the other one is a bet that Florentino Perez made and hasn't worked very good until now. Perhaps the most delicate situation is James' because his permanence inside Los Blancos could be the key for Paul Pogba to arrive in Madrid. The problem is that if Zidane doesn't sort things out with James soon, Jose Mourinho will beat him to the punch and get Pogba before he does.

The situation with Morata and Jese is different because Zidane is open to giving them a chance to shine in the club, being home products and all he likes the idea of those two succeeding at Real Madrid. During the pre-season camp in Canada, Zinedine Zidane talked about the situation of all three players. He first opened with James Rodriguez, then talked about Morata and Jese.

"The idea with James is the same as with everyone else - he's a Real Madrid player. I'm not going to tell you that James is a starter. He's an important player. We'll see what happens this year, I have a big squad and it's complicated. Morata is one more player in the team. He knows what Madrid is and we're happy to see Alvaro with us. We're going to have a much bigger squad and everyone will be important. He'll be one more. Jese didn't have many minutes. I like him, I like him a lot as a player. He can have minutes here, he knows his quality."
