Donovan Mitchell led the charge with a record-breaking effort as the Cleveland Cavaliers swept back into their playoff series on Friday night, defeating the Indiana Pacers 126-104 in a crucial Game 3. Mitchell finished in 37 minutes with 43 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal. He made 10-of-14 free throws, 5-of-13 from outside the arc, and 14-for-29 from the field. After his 48-point burst in Game 2, he had that incredible night, scoring 91 points overall.
Mitchell achieved a feat that even LeBron James did not do during his tenure in Cleveland: he became the first player in Cavaliers postseason history to score 90 points or more in two games. In Game 3, following a competitive first quarter, the Cavaliers dominated the second quarter, scoring 34–13 to take a significant lead at halftime and maintain their momentum for the remainder of the game.
