Ben Simmons not going to take the floor again this season

Before the team's game against the Miami Heat on Saturday night, Nets coach Jacque Vaughn stated that Simmons was not expected to play for the remainder of the 2022–23 season due to a nerve impingement in his back. According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Vaughn stated, "For me as a coach, there are some things that I can manage, and there are some things that I can't control." "The impingement is something I cannot control.

On Friday, the Nets revealed that Simmons had a nerve impingement. After Saturday's game against Miami, Brooklyn will only have eight more regular-season games remaining due to his absence from all 16 of the team's games played in the second half of the year. Simmons has had a difficult time recapturing his All-Star form from earlier in his career when he played this year.
