Boston Celtics defeated the Detroit Pistons 117-108 thanks to 28 points from Jayson Tatum and 10 rebounds from Marcus Smart. Marcus Smart also had 10 assists in Boston's second win. Jayson Tatum scored 78 points, including 28 in the first half, on top of 10 rebounds and 18 assists. Detroit's Bojan Bogdanovic scored 28 points, including six three-pointers, as the Pistons lost their sixth straight game.
Marcus Bagley III made his season debut after missing the first 13 games with a sprained knee and finished with four points and five rebounds in 17 minutes. The Pistons were without their most important player, Cade Cunningham, who has shin soreness. The Celtics were without their most important player, Jaylen Brown, who got the off due to a knee injury. Bogdanovic had a double-double in the first half, including two free throws with 0.1 seconds left in the second quarter that gave Detroit a 57-55 lead.
