The Boston Celtics defeated the deplorable Charlotte Hornets in the Spectrum Center, 122-106, with the help of 33 points from Jayson Tatum and 30 from Malcolm Brogdon.
The assured first-half game by the Hornets, which at one point stormed into a 16-point lead at 58-42 midway through the second quarter, caught Boston off guard. At the break, Charlotte led 66-62, with Boston having closed the margin to just four points.
Post halftime, the Celtics unleashed a crushing scoring streak. They turned the game around by outscoring Charlotte in the third quarter and kept a sizable lead going into the fourth. The C's will now stay in Charlotte and play the Hornets once again on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
