On what was almost another extremely poor night for the Celtics, Jaylen Brown's career-high 50 points saved a dramatic win against Magic. The Celtics jumped off to a big lead against a subpar Orlando squad, and it appeared as if the C's could be able to play comfortably. Then, in the second quarter, they turned the ball over a lot, allowing the Magic to trim a nearly 15-point advantage to single digits before halftime. The Celtics then surrendered a huge third-quarter run, allowing the Magic to take a 14-point lead.
The Celtics needed an 11-2 run down the line to force OT, and Marcus Smart had 17 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds. Dennis Schroder led the team in scoring with 21 points and seven assists. The Celtics then came back to tie the game in regulation and eventually win in overtime.
