Boston Celtics withstood a late rally to beat the Miami Heat 110-106

Boston made 16 of 39 3-pointers, led by Kristaps Porzingis with 25 points, Jaylen Brown with 20 and Jrue Holiday with 15. This season, the Celtics have defeated the Heat in all three of their meetings, and they have won six of their previous seven meetings. After Boston forced the decisive game after losing the first three, the game took place in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals of the previous season.

The Heat, who were shorthanded to begin the game and were much more so by the end, concluded with 15 points apiece from Duncan Robinson and Caleb Martin, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro, who scored 22 of his 24 points in the second half. Leading scorer Jimmy Butler was not available for the Heat due to a family member's passing. Butler had been given a leave of absence. Terry Rozier and Josh Richardson were lost to injury for Miami.
