Brooklyn lost to the second-seeded Sacramento Kings

The Denver Nuggets, who are the top seed in the Western Conference, will visit the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday after the Nets' second consecutive loss. After the defeat, Brooklyn currently trails the New York Knicks by 1.5 games in the race for the Eastern Conference's fifth spot. With the victory, Sacramento, meanwhile, completed its first successful season since 2005–2006. Mikal Bridges, who led Brooklyn as usual, scored 24 points on an effective 7-of-17 shooting line. However, while playing effectively for the bulk of the game, he missed a few opportunities late on that would have changed the outcome in Brooklyn's favour.

Brooklyn had 14 points from Nic Claxton, who also had a strong game, in addition to 14 rebounds and 2 blocks. His 24th double-double of the season set a team record. Domantas Sabonis, an All-Star who led the Kings with a game-high 24 points, dominated the glass to collect 21 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end.
