Dallas Mavericks' current performance isn't helping. Dallas, who were in need of a victory to maintain their playoff hopes, were defeated by the Charlotte Hornets on the road, 110-104, for the second time in a row. Despite the severity of their predicament, the Mavericks once more exhibited a lack of interest and a lazy demeanour. Dallas having dropped four straight games, is currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference, and is not participating in the play-in round. There are seven games left to play in the regular season, all of which must be won. The issue is not whether the Mavericks have the willpower to compete and succeed, but rather if they even want to.
In the first half of the game against the Hornets, the desire Hardaway mentions wasn't present. Similar to Friday night, Charlotte established a sizable lead in the first half that forced the Mavericks to scramble and search for solutions.
