Doncic splits recovery between Madrid and Slovenia as playoffs approach

Luka Doncic has returned to Europe to continue treatment on the hamstring injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the Lakers’ regular season. The Slovenian star is undergoing therapy in Madrid under the supervision of Real Madrid doctor Javier Barria, while remaining in constant contact with Los Angeles’ medical staff. The goal is to be ready for the opening weekend of the playoffs on 18–19 April, with his return to California scheduled for the middle of next week.

According to Slovenian outlet Ekipa, Doncic made a brief stop in Ljubljana to visit his two daughters, whom he had not seen for months. The visit comes amid his recent breakup with Anamaria Goltes and an ongoing legal process regarding custody. Doncic has spoken openly about the emotional strain, saying basketball has been his best distraction. After the short family visit, he will resume treatment in Madrid before flying back.
