Giannis Antetokounmpo sounded more like a Greek philosopher than a Greek NBA star on Friday, but his advice on living in the now could help the Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA Finals. The Bucks came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the Phoenix Suns at 2-2 in the best-of-seven championship series heading into Saturday's fifth game in Phoenix.
Antetokounmpo, a 26-year-old forward and two-time NBA MVP, says Milwaukee was resilient by not lingering on defeat or wondering their fate, but by battling back one day, and even one play, at a time. Besides, in the Bucks' case, it's knowing they can come back from 0-2 deficits, as they did in the second round against Brooklyn and intend to do again against the Suns. Only four times in NBA Finals history has a team dropped the opening two games before winning the championship.
