The Golden State Warriors fell apart on Wednesday night, losing to the Brooklyn Nets 143-113, as Kevin Durant scored 23 points, all but two in a 91-point first half, and the reigning champions suffered their second straight beatdown at the hands of the New York Nets.
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins are all sidelined with shoulder injuries, so the Memphis Grizzlies will have to take on the Warriors on Christmas, when they hope to be healthy. Even so, the Nets matched a franchise record with nine players in double figures, and they won their seventh straight thanks to Kyrie Irving's right calf inflammation. The Nets had to come from 18 and then 19 points down in their last two wins. After making 11 of their first 12 shots, the Nets scored 11 of their first 12 in the first period.
