Grizzlies defeated by Hawks 87-91 at NBA Pre Season Exhibition

The Atlanta Hawks upset the Memphis Grizzlies 91-87 at FedExForum on Saturday after a fourth-quarter scoring burst sparked by Sharife Cooper and Skylar Mays. It was the Hawks' first win and the Grizzlies' first loss of the preseason. Cooper was the Hawks' X-factor in the fourth quarter, scoring all 10 of his points. Mays also hit both of his free throws as Atlanta went on a 19-5 run to finish the game. With 16 points and 12 rebounds, John Collins scored double.

Desmond Bane had 18 points to lead the Grizzlies, while Brandon Clarke and Santi Aldama both had 16 points. Xavier Tillman Sr. had six points and 11 rebounds in the game. Tillman and Clarke, the team's frontcourt tandem, got out to a fast start, scoring the team's first nine points before a De'Anthony Melton 3-pointer. After 14-6 runs, rookies Ziaire Williams and Aldama came off the bench to help the Grizzlies take a 22-21 lead after one quarter.
