International Wheelchair Basketball Federation conducts a draw for the wheelchair basketball tournaments for the Tokyo Olympics. The draw was held for both the men's and women's tournaments and the top four teams at the 2018 World Championship have all been drawn together for the men's wheelchair basketball tournament. The Defending Paralympic champions the United States, reigning world champions Britain, Australia and Iran are all placed in Group B.
Germany and Algeria would also join them in the same group. In Group A Rio 2016 silver medallists Spain, Turkey, Canada, South Korea, Colombia, and hosts Japan are there. On the Women’s side, in Group B we have reigning Paralympic champions the US, world champions The Netherlands, China, Spain, and Algeria. In Group A the Rio 2016 silver medallists Germany, Australia, Britain, Canada, and Japan are drawn. The Wheelchair basketball will take place from August 26 to September 6.
