The Golden State Warriors, the reigning champions, are now quite busy. Not only do they have to deal with the Draymond Green problem, but they also need to decide how to handle the Jordan Poole contract extension negotiations that are coming up soon. If he and the Warriors are unable to reach an agreement, Poole is eligible for a rookie-scale deal and is expected to become a restricted free agent the next summer. The Warriors won't have to cross that bridge, though, which is the hope—and maybe the expectation—with Poole.
The Warriors' most fascinating player going into the 2022–23 NBA season is Poole. Poole just had a breakthrough season, averaging 18.5 points and four assists while shooting 45 percent from the field and 36 percent from 3-point range. He may not have even started playing the greatest basketball imaginable, which makes the situation even better.
