Knicks gives Kemba Walker green light to sit for the rest of season

Knicks and Kemba Walker have agreed to sit the player for the rest of the season. It was a very difficult decision for Knicks to willingly sit the four-time All-Star who has averaged 19.5 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. The 31-year-old has been playing for New York Knicks since August 2021 subsequent to being purchased out of his agreement with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Walker was part of 37 of New York's 59 challenges this season. This is the first time the star has freely spoken about being benched and the team has come forth and said that they support his decision to close it down for the rest of the period and to utilize this time to plan for next season, the team needs him for the long run. Knicks are currently eleventh in the Eastern Conference with a 25-34 record.
