Timberwolves lacked a defensive edge on Tuesday against the defending champions at Staples Center and paid the price with a 137-121 loss to Lakers. Timberwolves were shown the door as Lakers took their sweet time to teach Minnesota a lesson to remember that they have a long way to go. James hit a triple-double with way less effort and in the end had a tally of 25 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. LA shot 58% from the floor and shot 13 triples.
Minnesota did put up a fight but couldn’t do a lot against James and Montrezl Harrell in the last quarter where the duo powered Lakers to a double-digit lead without breaking a sweat and Rubio was the only one in Wolves squad to put in an effort with 19 points on 8 for 11 shooting and 12 assists.
