Malik Monk is definitely not being motivated by money as the talks of the Lakers signing him again at a discount emerges. The former first-round draft pick is hunting for playing time and a better role in the roster and would even stay with the Los Angeles Lakers with a pay cut to get some experience under his belt. Monk was the 11th pick of the 2017 draft pick by Charlotte Hornets and during the four seasons he stayed with the team he started just one match before moving to join the Lakers squad in the 2021-22 season.
With Lakers, he started thirty-seven matches and achieved his career-best 13.8 points per game on 47.3% shooting. Monk is thus ready to return to the Lakers and sign a deal with the team in the hopes that he can make a good impression on LeBron James.
