Luke Kennard will bring laurels to the LA Clippers for his extension, only if he can just stay hale and hearty. The 24-year-old former Detroit Piston hasn’t played even a single game for the LA Clippers yet. Still, he’s already cashing in on a big payday.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Luke Kennard has agreed to an astonishing four-year, $64 million contract extension with the Clippers. The Clippers traded for him on draft night recently.
The deal amalgamates guaranteed $56 million. And, the remaining $8 million will come in incentives. These incentives are considered “reachable.”
The deal comes with a crucial risk for the Clippers. However, much like the Marcus Morri and Paul George contract extensions, this substantial investment could be a worthwhile one. But only if LA finally gets over the bulge and seize a championship
