Immanuel Quickley of the New York Knicks and Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks were beaten out for the title of 2023 NBA Sixth Man of the Year by Malcolm Brogdon on Thursday. Brogdon is now the third Celtic to earn the league's yearly award, following in the footsteps of Bill Walton (1986) and Kevin McHale (1984, 1985).
Brogdon, who is playing for the Celtics for the first time this year, discussed the honour on TNT's "Inside The NBA." "It's such an honour," remarked Brogdon. Coming from Indiana to Boston has undoubtedly been a change for me, but I work for a fantastic company. My teammates and coaching staff are excellent, and Joe (Mazzulla) has taken the helm and done a fantastic job. I wish to express my gratitude to those men for everything.
