Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors 121-110

In Game 5 on Wednesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors 121-110, led by 29 points from 13-for-18 shooting, and advanced to the Western Conference finals for the second consecutive year.

The sixth-seeded Wolves, who will next play the winner of Denver vs. Oklahoma City, received 22 points and 12 assists from Anthony Edwards. The Warriors, who once again played without star Stephen Curry due to a hamstring ailment that kept him out of the second quarter of Game 1 and sapped the energy from their whole offensive operation, got a postseason career-high 28 points from Brandin Podziemski. Jonathan Kuminga provided another energy boost off the bench with 26 points, but Podziemski’s performance came too late and the production from Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield was consistently too little after they led the series-opening win.
