Neemias Queta signed by the Celtics to a two-way deal

Neemias Queta, a former Sacramento Kings centre, was signed by the Celtics to a two-way deal on Saturday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The 7-footer was chosen by the Kings in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draught, but over the course of two seasons he only appeared in 20 games for Sacramento, where he averaged 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old Queta shown a tonne of promise with Sacramento's G League club. Following a season of 16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game, he came in second in the G League MVP vote last year. As one of Boston's two-way contract players, Queta joins guard JD Davison, whom the Celtics selected in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draught, and Summer League star Jay Scrubb.
