Shorthanded Nets relied on Kyrie Irving to perform yet again and he did his part but still missed out on a triple-double despite it all. Brooklyn Nets beat Boston Celtics by 109-104 and claimed a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference on Friday. Irving went 15 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds, and four steals, in the end, to help Nets overthrow Celtics.
While Jayson Tatum went 38 points and 10 rebounds and leading the team alone all through the first half where he scored half of the points. Later Celtics had Payton Pritchard (22 points) and Marcus Smart (19) to rely on but they could not hold off Brooklyn. Both the team were without their star players’ Kevin Durant and James Harden for the Nets, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker for Celtics.
