Steven Adams agrees to a contract extension by New Orleans Pelicans. The former Oklahoma City Thunder center will stay at Pelicans for two years after he signs the two-year contract worth $35 million thus the center would be seen with the Pelicans for three more seasons. The 27-year-old will earn over $27 million as per the current contract which is running on its final year and he would have joined the unrestricted free agent market if Pelicans had not agreed to the extension.
The player came from Oklahoma City Thunder after a four-team trade was successful which featured Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks, and Jrue Holliday moving from Pelicans to Milwaukee. He averaged last season 10.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 63 games and had spent 7 years at Oklahoma City.
