Despite his excellent play for Germany at Eurobasket, the 29-year-old Dennis Schroder has not been signed by the Phoenix Suns or any other NBA team. His prospects of signing with the NBA have improved as a result of some scorching performances in the Eurobasket, particularly last time out when he assisted in the defeat of Greece and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Phoenix is in a good position to benefit from Schroder's assistance, but they don't need him to intervene and make a significant difference. Because of the Suns' well-publicized dearth of point-guard depth, Schroder could undoubtedly expect to play between 15 and 20 minutes each night. But on the other hand, he does not need to be in the rotation if things go wrong. It would also be simple to waive him if he were a serious liability in the locker room if he would now agree to a minimum contract.
