Due to injury, Nuggets players Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray missed Wednesday night's 120-108 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Murray missed his second consecutive game due to an injured right ankle, and Jokić missed his second consecutive game due to a damaged right elbow. This season, the Nuggets' pillars have combined for 50.6 points, 16.6 rebounds, 16.4 assists, and 3.2 steals per contest.
Both Murray and Jokić made the trip to Los Angeles and worked out before the game, but they were eventually disqualified. Additionally, both players missed Monday's unexpected victory over Golden State by the Nuggets. Denver coach Michael Malone on Wednesday profanely defended his team’s decision to protect Jokić and Murray against the Warriors before the Nuggets had made the same decision for their game against the Lakers. Malone said Jokić has played the second-most games in the NBA over the past decade.
