Philadelphia 76ers hope new coach Nick Nurse can lead team to NBA title

Nick Nurse takes over a Philadelphia 76ers squad that has seen Tyrese Maxey emerge into a star, Joel Embiid become an MVP, and James Harden revert to his former all-star form during the playoffs. The Sixers are at home watching the NBA Finals despite having so much potential.

Nurse, who was formally hired the head coach of Philadelphia on Thursday weeks after being sacked by the Toronto Raptors, had higher hopes for a team that instead endured a third consecutive second-round playoff loss. However, they obviously are not. In Game 1 of the Finals, the Denver Nuggets host the Miami Heat. The Sixers unveiled yet another new coach, this time extolling yet another new vision, following yet another season without a title. Following the firing of Doc Rivers and with the Sixers out of the playoffs, they went to Nurse to attempt and find a solution to their second-round problems. A title would be even better.
