Portland Trail Blazers lose 112-117 to Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks outlasted the Portland Trail Blazers down the stretch, 117-112, to end a two-game skid, led by Luka Doncic's 40-point triple-double at American Airlines Center on Saturday night. The Mavs improved to 7-5, while the Trail Blazers fell to 9-4 on the young season.
Dallas started slowly, as the Trail Blazers jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but it quickly rallied as they closed the first quarter with a 35-25 advantage. Portland closed the second quarter strong with a 13-0 run, as Dallas' lead shrank to just two by halftime, 59-57. Christian Wood led the Trail Blazers with 22 points in the first half. As the Trail Blazers came out firing, they ended up with an 88-85 advantage. Spencer Dinwiddie caught fire in the fourth, scoring 33 points.
