Miami’s two-way roster spots have three competitors in the race. The NBA season is no longer far away now that Labor Day is belated. Clubs are all in their roster actions aiming for success in the coming season and Miami Heat is no exception with its training camp scheduled to start on September 28. The rookies' clash has been triggered by the Twitter announcement by the Heat revealing the signing of its undrafted rookies of the summer league team, Micah Potter, Javonte Smart, and Dru Smith.
The trio signed in an Exhibit 10 contract, includes training camp invitations and the power to the Heat to assign them to their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. This also means that 6-foot-10 center Potter and guards Smart and Smith will compete for the Heat’s second two-way roster spot following Marcus Garrett. Garrett is a 6-foot-5 guard but doesn’t satisfy the Miami guard thirst who are looking for other potentials referring to Max Strus and Gabe Vincent.
