Rockets comfortably beat Mavericks despite their lack of depth

Alperen Sengun had his 8th double-double of the season, and the Houston Rockets took advantage of a depleted Dallas Mavericks lineup to win 122-96.

Engun finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds in only 25 minutes. Jabari Smith Jr. added 21 points and eight rebounds for the Rockets, who led by as many as 38 points and won their 12th game in 14 at Toyota Center. The Mavericks have added Luka Doncic to their roster of injured starters. In the absence of many rotation players, the Mavericks shot 27.8 percent in the first half, missing 21 of 24 3-point attempts. Houston's five starters all scored in double digits, with Jalen Green leading the way with 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks each contributed 10 points. Tim Hardaway Jr. was Dallas' lone starter to reach double digits, scoring 16 points but missing 14 of 20 attempts. Overall, the Mavericks shot 34.7 percent.
