Simone Fontecchio Scores His First NBA Points by Making Three Triples

On Monday, October 24, the Rockets played host to the Jazz at Toyota Center. Fontecchio made his first basket at 11:46 of the fourth quarter by sinking a 24-foot three. The Italian forward blasted two more threes at the 9:37 mark. The NBA rookie sank a 27-footer less than a minute later to reduce Houston's advantage to 88-84. Fontecchio made his second appearance on an NBA court during the game on Monday. In his one minute of play in Utah's victory over the Denver Nuggets to start the season, he failed to register a point.

The forward scored nine points midway through the fourth quarter on 3-6 shooting, including 3-5 from long range. During his first nine minutes on the court, he added two rebounds. Additionally, Fontecchio has participated regularly in national team activities for Italy and Alba Berlin in Germany.
