Stephen Curry’s decision to retire with Warriors would really hurt their pockets

Stephen Curry’s decision to retire with Warriors would really hurt their pockets as the deal called for a huge commitment from Golden State Warriors end. Both the team and player has confirmed that a final round of negotiation is underway for his extension with Warriors, his five-year contract has two more years left,  he had signed a $201 million deal in 2017 with Warriors and would cost Warriors upwards of $43 million in 2020-21 and $45.8 million in 2021-22. While the three-year extension they are looking at will cost them $156 million by 2024-2025.

Curry has been the driving force behind the team and has earned his right to retire playing for Warriors. With him, on roster, they have won the Western Conference five-time back-to-back as well as three NBA Championships. His 3-point shooting skills have been a blessing for Warriors. But his time is now ridden with injuries being upwards of 30.
