Phoenix welcomed Minnesota in what was expected to be a hard-fought game from the outset. On his return for his homecourt debut, Kevin Durant gave Phoenix supporters a spectacular performance to anticipate. Yet, as the third quarter got started, the Suns' intentions appeared to go awry. In the later part of the third quarter, Phoenix was able to seize the initiative and build and maintain a lead. As a consequence, the Suns defeated the Timberwolves to make it three victories in a row.
Phoenix was being dominated by players like Karl-Anthony Towns because Durant hadn't found his flow. Instead, Devin Booker and Cameron Payne led the Suns on a run late in the third quarter. The Suns took a sizable lead in the game for the first time after a 10-2 run. Booker finished the game with 24 points, five assists, and three steals. He had gotten on a cold streak before returning to his groove.
