According to a recent report by SNY's Ian Begley, the Indiana Pacers are interested in trading Gordon Hayward, All-Star forward this offseason. They are thinking of taking this crucial step because Hayward brays a player option with the Boston Celtics in the final year of his contract.
Hayward could be in the position of leverage by opting for around $34 million he has owed and become a free agent in the market. Since there are no superstars available on this year's free-agent market, he could be in an influencing position. So, the Pacer's interest is accidental to him even being accessible in a deal.
Still, in case Hayward opts-in and manages to be traded for, the Pacers will surely make sense in terms of the assets they could offer.
