The Nets routed the New York Knicks

For the 13th time in a row, Kevin Durant defeated the Knicks, and the last two times, he recorded triple-doubles. His season-highs in rebounds and assists along with his customary scoring extended a streak that dated back to when Michael Jordan began the 1988–89 campaign with 16 straight games of 25 points.

The triple-double was Durant's 17th in his career and sixth since joining the Nets. Seth Curry contributed a season-high 23 points. With the Nets defeating the Knicks for the eighth consecutive game, the basketball rivalry in New York remained nonexistent. In his 24 minutes on the court, Ben Simmons recorded six points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block, while fellow Australian Patty Mills failed to make any of his three field goal tries for Brooklyn.
