The Toronto Raptors are signing NBA veteran Garrett Temple

In 25 games with the Pelicans last season, Temple, 37, averaged 2.0 points. He made 40.0% of his field goals, 42.3% of his 3-point attempts, and 75.0% of his free throws. Temple was reared in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was born.

In the free-agent market, the Houston Rockets acquired Fred VanVleet from the Raptors. They added Temple, who has averages of 6.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 716 NBA games with the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Charlotte Bobcats, Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, and Pelicans, to their roster after signing Jalen McDaniels and Dennis Schroder. Toronto failed to qualify for the 2023 NBA playoffs after falling to the Bulls in the 9-10 play-in game.
