After losing seven games straight, the Minnesota Timberwolves have finally put an end to their losing streak. That too without Karl-Anthony Towns. It was a match against the San Antonio Spurs. This is the same team they lost to the previous evening at the same site, with Karl-Anthony Towns.
And they came through, squashing the San Antonio Spurs 96-88 at Target Center. They did it in the most amazing way possible. That too with utmost mettle and grit.
Grit has been undoubtedly the last adjective to describe this Timberwolves team without Towns. The Wolves lacked fight in many of the first six games. The all-star center missed these games due to a dislocated wrist. Towns' strong play in a losing effort and early return Saturday inspired his teammates. Towns did not play as a part of the team's plan but he was super-happy on seeing his team winning the match.
