Utah Jazz: Vince Williams Jr. knee injury: is the season over?

Sources tell The Deseret News that the wing likely suffered serious damage to his left anterior cruciate ligament. After leaving the arena on crutches, Williams is scheduled for an MRI in Salt Lake City. Coach Will Hardy expressed deep concern, noting the severity of the situation. The incident occurred during transition defense; contact with Tari Eason caused Williams to lose balance, resulting in a painful knee hyperextension.

While Hardy was angered by the lack of a foul call, Eason insisted there was absolutely no malicious intent involved. Acquired in the Jaren Jackson Jr. trade, Williams was contributing 5.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3 assists through five games. Now in his fourth season earning $2.3 million, the Jazz hold a team option for the 2026/27 campaign regarding his contract.
