The Lakers are still waiting to see their new star trio of Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves share the floor, as all three sat out during Sunday’s 111-103 preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center. Doncic rested, James dealt with a glute issue, and Reaves was given a breather after logging heavy minutes in the first week of training camp. Reaves had impressed in Friday’s loss to the Suns, scoring 20 points as one of the few offensive standouts.
With the main scorers sidelined, Gabe Vincent stepped up in his preseason debut, posting 16 points and five assists after recovering from a knee injury. Center Deandre Ayton also showed early energy, scoring seven points in the first quarter along with seven rebounds, though the Lakers ultimately fell short once again.
