Washington Wizards beat the Dallas Mavericks 113-105

For Washington, who was without Beal due to health and safety procedures, and Porzingis due to a left groin issue, Rui Hachimura scored 23 points. After falling behind 22-8, the Wizards swiftly recovered and eventually pulled away thanks to three 3-pointers from Kyle Kuzma in the opening seconds of the fourth. Spencer Dinwiddie led the Mavericks with 33 points, while Luka Doncic added 22 in the deal that brought Porzingis to Washington. The Mavericks had a four-game winning streak before dropping their last two games.

The Wizards (6-6) haven't gotten out to as strong of a start as they did in the first 13 games of last season when they won 10 of them, but Thursday's performance earned them back-to-back wins for just the second time this year. For Washington, it marked the beginning of a six-game homestand, the first four of which will feature opponents from the Western Conference.
