Los Angeles Lakers worked on improving their depth in the offseason and have come to depend on the bench while rotating the champs. Defending their NBA title during such turbulent times calls for a sound backup and they did just that, LeBron James added 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists while Dennis Schröder had 24 points, as Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-104.
Montrezl Harrell had 17 points for Lakers. Harrell and Wes Matthews also helped off the bench as coach Frank Vogel shared that without Davis it really is a challenge for the team and every guy needs to contribute and help the roster against Minnesota, their rookie Anthony Edwards posted 28 points for the night but not for a winning cause. The seven-time All-Star might not be with Lakers for a long time after an injury to his Achilles tendon.
