Kristaps Porzingis had 30 points and 10 rebounds and the Washington Wizards clutched the match in the end to beat the Detroit Pistons 100-97. Wizards made a comeback to the winning stage after losing eight of nine matches and on Thursday fell 114-102 at Milwaukee as well. Deni Avdija added 21 points and 10 rebounds to assist the Wizards as well.
Detroit relied on Marvin Bagley III who scored 25 points, and Cade Cunningham chipped in with 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as the team stayed close to Wizards even after losing Forward Jerami Grant in the first quarter to a stressed calf. Pistons were following for the most part of the match by as much as 17 points but took a 91-90 lead on Saddiq Bey's 3-pointer with 5:01 but Wizards countered, scoring the following six points to take the lead back and Pistons could not hold onto the lead again.
